I took my cat to the vet this morning and had his eye looked at, it was kinda puffy and it looked like he mighty walked into something.

Anyway, the DVM performed an Opthalmic exam and decided that something had irritated it (probably fighting with it's sister)....

Summary of walk-in visit...Opthalmic exam, Triple Antibiotic ointment (not OTC stuff)..total came to $40.

Try getting the same service/price at a regular doctors office.

Hell, the antibiotic would cost more than $40.

(Edited for spelling.  If I'm going to be a spelling nazi, I've got to spell well myself!)

Three years ago, guy net door broke into my

home and stole numerous items and stabbed my

cat with a steak knife from the drawer. He

cut the intestines and slit the stomach. Total

bill for the operation was $600.00

That would have cost $25,000.00 or more if

that would have been done to a human.

I haven't done a lot of research, but I remember my wife looking at going to Vet school and realizing that it took almost as long as med school.

If someone were to thoroughly research the differences in the care and training costs for vets and compare to doctors, we would probably have a great argument to use against gov't involvement in health care and against unregulated medical malpractice awards.

Just a thought.

i imagine it would be harder to be a vet than a regular MD. animals are all different species, whereas people are: male and female. oh yeah, and the gays.

and what did happen to that next door neighbor, No911forme?

Judge suspended sentence for breaking in,

and gave him 6 months in jail for cruelty

to animals. They moved out about 3 months ago.

What a nightmare that was.
