I'm looking for a way to store my handgun in my bedroom where I can retrieve it quickly if something goes wrong.  Right now I store it in a fire safe in a spare bedroom.  The wife doesn't want the fire safe in the master bedroom.  It is closer than the full sized safe in the basement but still not quick enough.  If I had to react quickly I might be in trouble.  That is especially true if my keys aren't handy.  I've got a 9 year old crib midget running around so I can't safely leave my Glock sitting around unsecured.  What do you gentlemen with kids do?   I've been looking at some of the Gun Vault stuff.  I need something small that can be quickly opened in the dark.

Gun Vault is a POS.  Lock failure and easy to break open.

I keep my glock 27 in a v-line safe. Look on Amazon.

I got one of these at a local county fair from the Ft Knox dealer. There are very strong and quick to open. I got mine for $125.

With a little one in the house, you are wise to make sure you have a convenient place to store your weapon securely.

My gun vault has served its purpose for years.  I use it mainly to keep my 3yo and 6yo hands off.  Sure I do the eddy eagle stuff but there is no way I'm leaving a loaded handgun laying around unsecured.  Is the gun vault the most secure quick safe out there?  Absolutely not.  But it sure does serve my purpose.  It has never malfunctioned or had a lock failure in over 6 years.  Is it easy to break open?  Probably so.  Remember, everything is a trade off.  I'm sure I can break open any handgun safe in a few minutes just using handtools.
