I walked into one of our local gun stores a couple of weeks ago looking for ammo for my S&W Shield 9mm. I was looking for Cor-Bon JHP. The know it all clerk asked if he could help me with anything?

I asked, do you carry Cor-Bon ammo?  He answered " We do NOT carry Cor-Bon because it is to strong and it will ruin your gun".

What do you all think?

I think if we want this shit to end, maybe we should start calling these fuckers out right there and then.  It is a policy I have recently taken up.  Don't expect friends though.

Corbon will ruin your gun...just like dry firing.

Ruin? Hardly.

More wear & tear? Somewhat.

It's hot ammo. But it still meets pressure specs.

Too me it is, because that's the same store that another clerk that was openly carrying asked me to take my hands out of my jacket pocket because it made him nervous.

It's another case of gun store ignorance.

I would quickly explain how ridiculous he is and that when his shop goes out of business I hope another shop opens up in it's place with people that aren't retarded, then leave and never go back.

For some reason there is a disproportionate amount of morons involved in the gun/hunting culture. Congratulations on meeting one of those morons.

I just dont get how if ur a "gun enthusiest" and work at a gun store, you can be this dumb.   but then again, everyone has an opinion on 1 thing or another.

What store was it if you don't mind saying? I'm currently compiling a list of crappy gun stores to avoid here.

I can break down some of he most wacky-complex of the early 20th century autopistols, but if you asked me what the 'best" cartridge and bullet is for deer I'd just shrug my shoulders.  Then again, I know my limitations, and would quickly ask the appropriate party.

Same here.

Except I'd say something like "8mm Mauser will take a deer down".

But, I'd realize that the iron sights on a K98 would baffle most Fudds without a $80 20x90mm WalMart special scope.

I've pretty much stopped going to local gun shops due to stupidity. A customer came in to one a while back and mentioned the Larue obr. The shop owners response was " if you get shot with a Larue does it make you more dead?". I told him it depends on the caliber.

Admit it.

You really just started this thread to brag about owning an M&P Shield, didn't you?

I'm a gunshop employee and I usually tell people corbon is expensive. They usually want cheap stuff. And thats as far as I take it.

The gun shop commandos? ignore them!!!!!

Holy shit, that would be the last time I ever set foot in that fucking place.

Or, you should have complained to the manager, and then walked out.

I usually like to show them the wad of cash I was about to spend there, but decided not to. That gets their attention.

Ehh on the flip side  there is douche bag gun shop commandos everywhere

place I worked pre-internet had multiple stores had a employee at one of them that would damn near draw down if someone brought in a uncased firearm

me? meh , hell I had a tweaker strip down in the store once , was more bemused and amazed than anything

So is Corbon ammo just hotload ammo?

If so it probably won't ruin much. I've got a competition Glock with about 100,000 extremely hot loaded rounds though it, it's running fine.
