Hmmm I wonder how long the driver has been doing that?

How come whenever I watch a youtube video posted in the thread, it comes out yellow?

while cool, I don't understand why it ate the nom nom, then shat it out, and then ate it again.  Easier to transport, just for kicks.  It was cool though.

What if a plane was in the back of that truck.  Could it take off?

Just a thought, but I would imagine if it was transported laying down the tubes of cotten would be compacted and begin to wedge themselves against the walls of the truck. Standing up they won't do that. But that is my city folk analysis of the situation.

The round modules have to be transported upright, otherwise they would roll side-to-side in the back of the truck (they weigh 5,000lbs each).

I have the same problem. Execpt mine shows up white and barely visible. Almost like the brightness is turned up way to high.

Yep.  There's a cotton field about 1/2 mile from where I live.  When they bale it, it's in huge semi-trailer sized bales.

Forward it to about the 1 minute mark.

It takes a lot of specialized, capital intensive equipment to grow cotton and get it to the gin.  A better Youtube video would include all of the other expensive stuff - planters, sprayers, harvesters, etc.

What is the yellow wrap/foam around the cotton roll and how is the cotton wrapped or stuffed in?

Slaton Co-OP?  Nice, that's about 50 miles from where my family grows cotton.

(Slaton is close to Lubbock in the Panhandle of Texas if anyone is wondering where this was filmed)

The whole cotton harvesting/transporting/ginning process is pretty darn neat.

Turns out to be High Tech Stuff   It is a mix of adhesive plastic film, thick film with RFID tags, and a non-adhesive outer layer on the wrap.   Each roll is rapped at harvest time, inside the harvester, then spit out the back to make room for a new one to be ready.
