I've got an older Sears power washer that I'm currently refrurbing to work better and I was wondering what is the best kind of oil to use in the pump where the valves are?

They make crankcase oil specifically for pressure washer pumps. You can buy it at Home Depot.
For oiling areas of the pump that have rubber seals, automatic transmission fluid wouldn't be a bad choice.

Whatever you do, do not leave without paying.
No matter how you rationalize it, that is stealing.
