When our family goes on road trips we stop at Denny's. However, we will no longer do so if we have to pay for defraying Obamacare costs. In San Francisco, CA restaurants already charge extra to help them with healthcare costs for their staff, therefore we don't eat in the city anymore. If all restaurants start doing the same we will no longer eat out, and when we travel we'll simply return to the old ways, i.e. we bring coolers stocked with home made food. As consumers we have a lot of power if we are willing to use it.

| It seems the guy who decided to impose the surcharge mentioned in the article only controls around 40 Denny's, and is based in Florida. In the comments, we see someone saying that Los Angeles area restaurants are already charging extra. We are likely to see price increases nationwide as a result of BHO's madness. |

The point that I was alluding to: The moron in question is going to be paying for obamacare anytime they eat out. Boycotting a francise simply because they actually note the surcharge on the ticket is laughable and displays such an ignorance of economics as to be depressing.
It almost ranks up there with the man-on-the-street interviews that were in favor of banning corporate profits. |

If any company started including the cost of doing business into the price of their product, I'm not buying their stuff!! Except Apple, of course. That's totally different. I can't tell if you're being facescious or not. I think that every business owner should denote the cost increase they must defray, due to Obamacare. |

Just like when you're in the grocery store and the piece of paper over the item you're looking for saying that "your desired item is temporarily unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control", you don't get mad at the hurricane in Central America that's keeping the star fruit from being delivered... you look at the shelf and drive on and grab the kiwi.
This is the something similar. The franchise is informing customers that their prices are going up and the reason why. I agree that the complainer in the story probably voted for something similar in his home state... Ironically, there aren't too many Denny's here in SC... even though this is the home state. I guess too many law suits against them have made them close their doors... there's only 1 in the Columbia Sc area... |

I think it's ironic. The guy's from san Francisco, in all likelyhood helped vote this shit in, and doesn't want to pay for it. The Dumbfuckingidiot is strong with this one. Please explain. I would bet he is referring to the idiot the OP quoted. |

Well, I may have been facetious but I'm not sure I'm facescious very often Every business is going to raise prices to cover costs. Libtards don't understand that corporations don't pay taxes (or fines for that matter), their customers do. Like my idiot parents (I've talked about them before) who bitch about the price of gas and then say we should tax the shit out of the oil companies. As they are in their 70's now, I can't tell if they forget that I explain how that's incredibly stupid every month or so, or if they're just ignoring logic because they think punishing success is a good idea. Could be both, I guess. But you have a great point there, RR. If companies showed the cost increase of 0bamacare on the label or receipt ... well, I guess probably nothing would change. Dems/libs would get offended and whine while rational people would shake our heads in disgust that we've come to this. And a minimum wage, 28 hour per week cashier would get chewed out more often (saw this happen at the gas station I used to have. People would yell at the cashier like she had the power to set the price the refinery charged me. People are fucking idiots) Damn, don't let me get off on tangents like that. Apparently I'm a bit frustrated today. Sorry |

It will be easier for businesses to just increase prices and not give the ignorant masses something to bitch about. |

I dont get it ARFCOM. I completely agree with the person the OP is describing. I dont want to pay extra, so I just wont go out and eat as much. I guess the difference is I dont feel Im "sticking it" to the store operator. Im just being stingy with my $ like I always have. its cost/benefit. Net result overall though, is a slower economy. unintended consequnces, bitches. |
