| OK, I'm a new member, and new to the ar15 community. I keep finding to get silencers and other attachments you would need a class 2 license, but when i search online on how to get one they always talk about getting one to set up a dealer shop. Is there any way to get just an owners license instead of dealer's license? or do you just fill out the right paperwork whenever you go to purchase these attachments? |

First time I ever asked anyone about how to legally own a machinegun I immediately got the "class 3 license" spiel... along with all kinds of other bullshit stuff that keeps getting repeated. |

To be fair, instead of a long explanation of a tax form, the stamp and why you need to keep it (or a copy) with the weapon - it is a LOT easier (if not 100%) accurate to explain it to a layperson in terms of the tax form actually being akin to a "license" So I can see how that misunderstanding could easily happen. |
| For those that answered seriously, thank you for clearing that up for me. I just got my first ar15 this past summer so as i said new to everything. And yeah i heard a lot of the bull$h!t stuff mentioned such as filing down the firing pin and needing a class three etc. |
