My post from another thread. thought I would share it more broadly.
While the republican party is weak sauce right now and for the foreseeable future, the real blame is the American people. We elect the government we deserve. We, as Americans have allowed the spread of socialism and to some extent communism by not standing up to it personally and shouting it down when it appears right in front of us. We have stood by and watched amused at the display of liberalism occurring right in our face. The Liberals told us up front what they stand for, what they want to acheive, and those of us on the conservative side have laughed to ourselves and said "yeah, whatever hippy" Well, now through their work and population advancement they are achieving their goals. You have to give them credit, they used our disbelief, complacency, and smug superiority against us. They have won this battle handily. So now what are we as Americans going to do, bitch and complain about our weak leaders? sneer at and mock our masters, or are we going to stand up (personally) and fight the battle we as Americans should have been fighting all along? We hardly have any room to complain when we were given the greatest country on earth and then not maintain it with vigilance and courage. The story goes that, as Benjamin Franklin , left the Constitutional Convention in 1787, he was approached by a Mrs. Powell, who asked him, "What have you given us, Dr. Franklin?" "A republic," he replied, "if you can keep it." It appears we have not done so. |

Well, we as a society are conditioned to just sit and take it. Lot's talk big games, but in the end we take it like peasants. So, there is your answer...
So now what are we as Americans going to do, bitch and complain about our weak leaders? That about sums it up... |

When you've reached 50% getting something for nothing, there's no going back. And the other 50% do nothing. Just bitch, moan, eat too much, get fat and bitch some more.. And of course offer all of their wisdom on the internet, Please.....enlighten us. Tell us how to fix it. Other than voting and writing to elected officials, trying to talk to family and friends, what can we do? |

And of course offer all of their wisdom on the internet, with inspiration like yours who needs enemies. we should have just given up in 1776 when a clearly superior military (the most powerful in the world at the time) marched on our pathetic rag-tag militia men in Concord. Our soldiers should have just surrendered in Bastogne in the Arden forest when they were surrounded by a superior fighting force. when we were attacked on 9/11 we should have just negotiated for peace with the Taliban. you clearly have the superior intellect and courage this country truly needs.

Other than voting and writing to elected officials, trying to talk to family and friends, what can we do? Well, it's going to take an uncomfortable level of courage and some temporary setbacks, but you and I are going to have to get personally involved, face to face with liberals and socialists. Arguments, confrontations without violence (unless self defense related) and personal expense. The Liberals are cowards and will slink away from a confrontation, but we have shown that we will not even stand up to cowards. What does that make us? How can we claim the superior position if we will not even confront cowards? Conservatives use a lot of deflecting adjectives to explain why we will not confront even our own reluctance to confront a coward, but that only means the cowards win by default. |

Quoted: the current republican establishment needs to just "burn the village" for the next two years (in an extreme way) and an entirely new party needs to arise from the ashes, centered around liberty. As fucked up as it sounds, this pretty much seems to be one of the few approaches with any chance of actually working out to some degree. "Taking back the media/schools"? Not gonna happen anytime soon. "Educate your friends and neighbors about liberty?" History has proven they don't and won't care. Etc. |

First, we have to find out exactly who the enemy is and how they think. So, first figure out into which category an obama voter falls by asking the following question. This will help you formulate your argument or avoid one all together because there is no hope for them.
So, you voted for obama? Well then, which of these are you? 1. a brain dead liberal? 2. Useless, mindless union lemming scum that just does what you're told and can't think for yourself? Or, 3. a member of the free shit army. Then plan your next move carefully. If they fall into category 1, there is no hope. Just tell them that when they start thinking more than feeling, you will then talk to them. If they fall into category 2, there is also likely no hope unless they can escape the union chains. Category 3. Well, chances are they'll die sooner, but will produce at least 7 offspring in their lifetime so working on them will do no good. I thought I was going somewhere with this, but it looks like we're just screwed.

Act immaturely and recklessly. They need to realize that there's no future for them and go out in a spectacular way that at least prevents the situation from worsening. Will that happen? Of course not. They're too eager to hold onto their seats. |

The Republican Party leaders are all about keeping their positions. They are not going to do anything which they think will endanger those positions, much less "burn" anything. Any change in the party will probably not be welcome to many, but I can confidently predict that most will hold their nose and vote for the "lesssor of two evils" while others will positively cheer for the changes ... at least until the next big electoral defeat. |
