I came a little |
|
I got in as quickly as I could; I hope I beat the haters. ETA: nope, too late. I have to admit that I wasn't overly impressed with Rush until a buddy dragged me to a concert. It was one of the most impressive concerts I've ever been to, and I've been a fan ever since. |

It was one of the most impressive concerts I've ever been to, and I've been a fan ever since. I was a fan before I ever saw them live, but it was still an awesome experience. No opening act, they just came out and played for 3+ hours. It was great. I am lucky in that when I see them play, it's in a city with one of the biggest Rush fan bases in the country. Saw them just last month and Geddy even said on stage that they've played more shows in St. Louis than any other city in the US. |

That's about the nicest way to put it.[/quotebo] So you come in here to bust balls or sing the praises of Waylon Willie and the boyz oh and the General Lee???? Dont fade to much from people who dog other music genres, I grew up listening to Cash, Mac Davis, Elton, Elvis, Sabbath, Johnny Horton, Metallica, Black Flag, Butt Hole Surfers, Parliment even some Hip Hop, if I dont llike it or it doesnt move me, I dont listen and I dont say your shit sucks...fuck |
| Sorry but if John Rutsey stayed with the band they would have been known as that mediocre band from Canada. Neil Peart might come accross as an asshole, but he helped elevate the band to the levels they have reached. And in my mind he is near the top of the 5 best time keepers of all time! |

Today's Tom Sawyer he gets high on you, with the space he invades he gets byyyy on you. Most overplayed and overhyped Rush song ever. There are so many awesome Rush songs, why is that POS the one that every radio station plays? WTF??? |

I agree with they wouldn't have been much with Rutsey.. But Neil an asshole??!! WTF? He's a brilliant drummer, a fantastic poet and lyricist. I've never heard him described as an asshole though.. Don't get it.. |

Nah, I just don't think he's very public. Hell, he seems kind of awkward. |

Don't get it.. He is quiet and shy. Lime Light is a song about how he feels about all the attention. He just never can grasp all the fan worship. Some folks think that makes him an asshole. To me it just means he is a normal guy |

The first concert I ever went to was RUSH at Nassau Coliseum. Signals tour. I was... 13, maybe? About 15 years later, I was talking with a guy in my firehouse (a musician and singer), about "first concerts," and I told him that . A few days later, he comes into work and says to me, "Here, it'll probably mean more to you than it does to me." He hands me a cassette... a fucking bootleg of that very show. My first concert. Corny as it might sound, it was one of the nicest things that anyone has ever done for me. Today? I don't even own a cassette player anymore, but I still have that tape. Completely useless... and one of my most prized possessions. One of the Top Ten shows I've seen in my life (and I've been to A LOT of shows), was RUSH, again at Nassau Coliseum, on the Grace Under Pressure tour. My old roommate (the biggest RUSH fan I've ever known), gave me an awesome quality bootleg of that show. It's in my iTunes library, and I still listen to it all the time. One of the funniest TV moments ever (IMO), was when Ricky kidnapped Alex Lifeson on "Trailer Park Boys." |
