| Why are they now worse than Adobe Acrobat? |

funny, I just got a Java update on my Macbook Pro. |
|
I had no idea that Macs didn't use Java .... fascinating, tell me more .... |

You do understand that Java isn't "special" on the Mac, right? The entire purpose of Java is to provide a single uniform environment on any supported system. |

Quoted: Quoted: Because hackers are constantly working to find ways to exploit Java and Sun(makers of Java) are constantly trying to plug the holes. Seems like it would be easier to write a solid product from the get go. They do. That's part of why so many updates. Trying to define a system that works on your TV remote, the EEG at the hospital, your laptop, and CERN is going to to come up short. It's not bad for what it is though.

Apple basically said they don't want anything to do with it anymore, so if you want Java you have to get it direct from Oracle. They also disable it by default and do a few other things to minimize it as an attack vector. |

Sooo.....they are similar right? "Java is an Object Oriented Programming (OOP) language created by James Gosling of Sun Microsystems JavaScript is a scripting language that was created by the fine people at Netscape and was originally known as LiveScript. JavaScript is a (very) distant cousin of Java in that it is also an OOP language" Javascript isn't Java. People like me get them confused early in the morning without enough caffeine.
