| a Gen II. Why not? |

You know what it needs to be? What they never made: A Gen 2 with a light rail. That's it. Period. No stupid finger grooves. No asinine thumb rests or whatever the hell those are supposed it be. No interchangable backstraps. No ambi mag release. All dumb ideas. I can agree with this. |

I'd also remove that notch to pull out a mag used on the 2nd gen. If someone wants that they can add it in 30 seconds. |

I have a first gen Glock 17 in the safe.
Decent gun. If it had a light rail, I'd like it a bunch more. I completely lost interest in Glocks when the "one size fits all" finger grooves got added. They don't fit me and it isn't worth my time to grind, fill and retexture the grip when M&Ps already have the grip profile I prefer... as well as H&K and Walther and Ruger... and hell, pretty much any other company that makes polymer guns worth a damn. |

Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: a stippled Gen II. Why not? Fixed it for you Without rails... I am not swat and don't need rails. just dont like the look of rails? Adds bulk and I don't think a rail mounted light is the right solution to low light situations. Its not a huge deal for me either way.

Adds bulk? Are you serious? |

Just like a 1911 This would get me to buy a glock http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/glock_1911-tm-tfb.jpg Provided it didn't have a firing pin safety, or external extractor. Now that's a good looking 1911! |

Adds bulk? Are you serious? You do know it is possible to use a light and a handgun at the same time without the light being attached to the handgun, yes? At home, I have a handgun with a light attached, for CCW, I have a handgun and a light. On my CCW piece when I have a choice I prefer to not have rails. I'll grant it's less of a deal on the plastic pistols. The light rail on my XD is pretty clean and unobtrusive, rails on 1911's are a little more noticeable. |

Adds bulk? Are you serious? Yeah, who needs to see the sights when you have a WML? I prefer a handheld light.
