I do not get how a 50% of the population in those areas can even afford rent...... |

Buy a foreclosure/Hud and if you are handy you got a deal |

I was renting last year for 775, now my mortgage is only 730. do not get me started on that... I am renting a crappy house for $700.... I saw what the house listed for 2 years ago and figured if I bought this house for what it went for on a 30 yr loan it would be under $325a month including insurance and taxes... |

Another thread demonstrating that 90% of Arfcom doesn't understand even basic economic concepts like supply and demand. No I get supply and demand...but how the hell do people that work $10 an hour jobs find a house to rent... Obviously, many of them live with roommates, family members or a spouse/S.O. who has a job. And some who make minimum wage would qualify for Section 8 housing, too. |

(I owned an apartment building.) see I am not even claiming this is the owners of rental properties fault.... I do blame the gov/banks for loaning money to people who could not afford it....and for people making stupid choices when it comes to buying a house.... they whole you make $25,000.00 a year and bought a $150,000.00 home and up and up....the more money people made the more house they bought they could not afford... |
| $1000/mo rent here will get u prob around a 100k house in an ok area. ive seen as high as $1400 in the same areas. Back when I rented/had 3 other roommates (2 story 6 bed 2800 sq ft house), rent was $1050. after utilities it came out to $450/mo each. not bad.. but idk how 1 person could afford something like that. my mortgage now for a 100k house is $627/mo |
