A buddy of mine got an iPod and wants me to put some songs from my library on to his iPod.  Is there a way to do that so it won't sync w/ my library?  I just want to pull certain songs off of mine and put them on his but leave his able to sync w/ his library.  Is that possible?

How do I do that?  Do I have to change everything in iTunes into an mp3 or can I take it staright from iTunes?

You need tinkertool or similar and open up the hidden files.

I was given an Ipod and was able to synch it to my computer and keep all the music and transfer the music files to my computer.

was a couple of years ago there was a youtube instructional video on how to do it.  Sorry no link.

Good Luck

OP here's an easier way. He needs to connect his iPod to his computer, change the iPod settings through iTunes to "manual update." This will prevent the iPod from automatically updating and synching to any computer. From there on, he can plug his iPod into anyone's computer with iTunes and drag their music over to his iPod.

Afterwards, if he wants to put new songs on he will have to drag and drop (even on his own computer). Any auto sync will delete songs that aren't on that particular computer.

here's a guide

OK, I changed it to manual, but where do I drag and drop it to?

Plug iPod into computer, open iTunes, go into library, drag songs to toolbar on left where iPod name is displayed.  Done. Sorry for copy message. Typing on phone.

Be careful when sharing music, The reason iPods dont allow this is because the RIAA forced Apple to implement it. The RIAA considers this piracy and will sue you for the fun of it.
