I read not too long ago that he was on vacation in the states, and visited Gun Sight Ranch in AZ while riding around on his Harley. He was presented with one or two 1911s at that time (this was a few years ago). The man likes to shoot. |

During the run up to ODS the US military was still focused on the defense of NATO so we didn't have stocks of desert cammies sitting around other than to supply the RDF allocated forces. |
