| I am trying to set up my Pelican case and I have left room for a Sig P226 (I do not own yet) that will be my next purchase. Not owning the firearm I obviously have no access to the magazines. I need to know the width (thickness) of the magazine body and the magazine baseplate!!!! PLEASE! Help me out if you can! Tired of looking at all of the foam everywhere! |

this is time sensitive because you can't wait until you actually own the firearm you're fitting this foam for...? Thanks for your help.... I don't plan on buying it for some time. I am making the foam cuts/pulling the foam and I want to have an idea of how to orient everything. I have everything but the magazines. I found the dimensions of the sig itself and I have left room for it. I am just needing info on the magazine's dimensions. ETA: I see your confusion, this case has 2 suppressors, 4 handguns and about a dozen magazines...it isn't a case for one firearm.... |

height 4 3/16
body front to back 1 1/4 body side to side 13/16 baseplate front to back 1 3/4 baseplate side to side 1 thickness 1/16 ETA - seems the same for SIG or Mec Gar ETA 2 - they're angled. I measured up the back. Go with 4.855 as the extreme height if you're going to lay them on the back. |

All of my P226 mags are old school dove tail up the back. The newest one I have is marked Mil/Leo only, so it was made some time between 1994 and 2004. They are 9mm.
That said, the body of the first random one I picked up measured .805" in width. The base plate is 1.05" wide. The base plate is 1.77" front to back. Height of a loaded mag is 4.855". The body front to back is 1.27". Hope this helps. |
