Over a year ago, late at night, someone posted a very high definition pic of projectile diarrhea. It was stunningly explicit!
It took months to get that out of my head. |

Quoted: Quoted: Don't forget Hatt Baby. View Quote View Quote It was another classic internet multimedia delight - not quite as good as the "All you Base are belong to us" song and video montage, or even the Mr. T "All your base" version, but along the same lines. IIRC, someone took a turkish or some other middle-easterh type song and provided subtitle lyrics in another language (I'm thinking Dutch). The thing was apparently intended for a Dutch audience, and used subtitles close enough to the sounds in the song that they could be believable as lyrics. Then, throw in interesting and humorous graphics while the song sings about a hat, and , well - truly bizarre and classic stuff Heck, by the time I finish typing this, someone will probably already have posted a link! Some chick made the whole story up, and I am actually the one that broke the scam![/red] View Quote Poor Fluffy supposedly had feline leukemia and his owner needed to sell an AR-15 to pay for the treatment. As anti said, it was all a spoof and I don't think it took much sleauthing to figure it out or came as any great surprise when it was officially exposed. I still remember the name of the originator of that thread. Anyone up for bonus points? |

1)Easy one;
who was the author of the Flaming Backpack story? where was he? what was in the backpack? 2)What was BlondeBombshell's boyfriends name p.s. can't remember her name, but who sent the link of her geocities site posing in lingerie and guns? |

When I first started posting (back in the mailing list days - you youngsters remember the list days, right?) the big conversation was whether Colt, Bushmaster, and others all had the same front sight height. It was debated ad nauseum whether you could use Colt removeable carry handles on aftermarket rifles and whether it could be sighted for elevation, etc. Also, someone named Corey who worked at Oly Arms had everyone nearly convinced that Oly rifles were the absolute best available. These are faint memories, as I am an "old timer" (per NFSjojo at BRC).

Ok, here is one.... who remembers the death of the "old board", and who made it into the beta site while the regular board was still down.
Bonus points if you can tell me what port the new board was on before it went mainstream. |

I was on the mailing lists before I ever joined the site. Remember Rambo the Colt fanatic? If he ever showed up at the forums I don't know what username he went by. Remember the guy who said he'd shoot people and take their food if he had to in a SHTF situation? He quit the list over all the negative feedback he got. AR15-L was where I first learned of Dr. Fackler's work, and IWBA. |
|
Rambo was the guy claiming Colt front sight towers were a different height, and that Colt A3 carry handles were therefore not interchangeable with other brands. No matter what arguement anybody would present, he would religiously defend Colt's inherent superiority to any other make. I remember he just about had a fit when the Armalite name came back!

Just chiming in to add that I also remember most of that stuff - am still shocked how fast some of you were able to rack your post counts up since they atarted again at zero withthe "new board," and wanted to point out this recommendation I made in "site suggestions": http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=2&t=137856 - was wondering what the rest of you nostalgia buffs think of the idea.

I remember sitting in the back of my Business Calc. class using that T1 connection to surf AR15.com forums, registered and began posting like a maniac in Nov. of 1998.
That was a rowdy time in the AR15.com chat channel, 5-6 regulars could always be found there. Names like Sporter(bastard had uncanny luck finding good deals), Blitzkrieg, Wahnsinn, and a good many more. |
