Is the Gopro Hero 2 worth the extra 170 bucks? Since they have the original Gopro Hero on sale for about $130.
I would use it on mountain bike rides, etc.. |

The other only difference is that the HERO 2 records in 1080p at 30fps I have a Hero 2, a friend has a contour HD - The GoPro records slightly better video, but the contour has better mounting options by far. If I had to do it again I'd get the Contour. |

I have both and a pair of Contours.
The GoPro 1 is 90% of the GoPro 2. That extra 10% is a bit sharper and better low-light performance. The majority of HD stuff on the Internetz isn't (full/true) HD and is exciting because of its content, not it's beauty. I bought the 2 so that one day in the far future there will be a WiFi connection to my iPad. |
