So we have a large buckeye tree in front of the office here.

Now buckeyes grow in little pods with spiked outsides.  We've noticed for years that there always seem to be more of these in the street and drive than on the grass and sidewalk.

This morning I figured out why.

The squirrels carry the pods over to where there will be vehicular traffic and drop them there.  Then they scurry down and grab the smashed up bits for eating.

Also a funny bit:  This morning a squirrel dropped a pod right on the head of a thug-looking dude in a convertible.  Dude slams the breaks and pops out of the car with his fists up, thinking someone threw something at him.  Fucking hilarious.

But I did think the problem solving  by the critters was pretty interesting.

Neat... same sort of thing.

Funny how the animals are adapting to the urban jungle.

Those kinds of [pot head] crows are dumber.
