There is a Subway literally 50' from my cell / cube at the hospital.  I broke down today and for $3.00 I got

6" Flatbread
regular egg
lots of red onions
tomatoes

once it was toasted added
jalapinos
spinach
avacado

guy that runs it threw in large coffee

The smell of the baking bread was KILLING me

That would cost the equivalent of $10 in the UK.

I've never eaten at Subway for breakfast, but the commercials look good.

Around here, Subways are the king of illegal alien employment.   I boycott them and go to Starbucks instead.

Subways and Taco Bells are the worst in employing illegals.

No wonder you guys are shorter.... you're starving!

But seriously, a guy I know immigrated here from the U.K. for basically the same job. He said his standard of living went up. (This was back in the late 80's and things aren't as good economically now, so I'm not sure if it would be the same.)

Dollar value right there, bub.

I am still trying to figure out how it is I get a foot long ham and cheese (with egg and all the veggies and associated goodness) at breakfast for less than a foot long ham and cheese at lunch.

But, I am not one to complain. This is me, not complaining.

I will actually go in at the last minute of breakfast and order it as my lunch.

I work with a guy from England and he said he won't move back because the cost of living there is so high.

I haven't tried their breakfast yet.  I usually make my own and bring it with me to work to reheat.

The new Cheese Eggbeaters are really good.
