For sure get one with unlimited mileage, and abuse the Hell out of it, that's what your paying for, we rent every year to go on vacation, we enjoy the trip more knowing we are not racking up mileage and wearing out our cars.

Avis.. you should be able to get a midsize with unlimited mileage for $35-40 a day.

Yeah, we used Avis last month in AZ and it was a really good experience, and pretty cheap. The wife got it of expedia.com or one of those type sites.  It's funny because the people at the counter don't even know what you pay.
