Just came back from Home Depot and the choices confused me.
I understand the coatings are supposed to make the drills harder so they cut better and stay sharp longer but every mfg seems to have their own buzz words Cobalt, titanium, black oxide, what do I want for quality? Yeah I know that some of it is just marketing BS. Thanks I chose Milwaukee brand Black oxide but then they are "made in China for Milwaukee" so I don't have real high expectations EDIT All around use, fairly heavy use but not really heavy enough to search out a industrial supply house, just trying to find out if anything Home Depo or Lowes carries is a standout or if they are all about the same |

I just go to Harbor Freight and buy the small bits in bulk. When one breaks, I grab a spare... Why throw good money away on broken junk and possibly ruining your project? Throwing away a small amount of money is not savings. MSC Industrial........buy USA made drill bits, Greenfield, bright steel is just fine, nothing fancy. |
