212 Can? I've got my Mini FDE waiting at my dealer for the ATF to give the go-ahead. The muzzle break, if anything like the 556k, will be annoying to anyone & everyone around you. FA556AR (AKA M4FA) Nice. After thinking, I realized the 21 can wasn't an overlap, but yours clearly is.

How much for the can? ![]() I got it second hand in a trade. I bought a Polytech underfolder for a steal at $419 + tax and then ended up trading the Polytech for the can. Great can but I wouldn't pay MSRP on it. Of course, I don't think anyone really pays MSRP anyway. |

Quoted: Nice Brake. I need a couple more since our can has been discontinued.I couldn't decide whether to put this in ARs or suppressors or what, so I just put it here. I finally got around to having my local smith thread an install a SF muzzle brake so's I could put my can on this rifle. I've had the can and the rifle for a while and I've had mounts installed on two other rifles but I just finally got around to this one. I think the brake looks pretty handsome on her. The FA556AR has nearly the best attachment system extant. Much better than AAC. The new Surfires did well to move the indexing pin but I'm not sure about how they ratchet. Overall, I'd consider the mount second to none. I'm just saying I can see how a person would consider the Gemtech or AAC method to be more convenient. |

Flashy advertising just tells me that a significant portion of my purchase price is paying for me to like the product, not necessarily for a better product. |

It would be a great way to fuck with the retards who say that a centerfire rifle can offers no real benefit. |

But if you tell me you don't want one of their t-shirts, or that sticker (you know which one), I might have to call BS.
I almost went with an AAC can because of that. Then I realized how silly that was, but I would say you and I are the exception. I also have an Oasis-P. it's easily my favorite gun, as well as every single person I take shooting. They can't get enough of it. |

Paper just came back for my FA556AR It's worth buying another can just to get that phone call. What a great feeling! Actually I got 2 at the same time, also got a AAC 7.62SDN6 The shopping isn't over yet! Nice!
I only have 2, but I bought them together. I want a .22 can next, and something for 9mm or .45 Probably 9mm...idk |

Didnt the surefire rep say the 212 and 762K were going to continue to be made in small numbers and that the muzzle devices would continue production? I seem to recall that in the CTD thread announcing the new cans.
I sure as hell hope so, I have paperwork in on 2 SF cans. |

Quoted: I read somewhere they're supposed to have less blowback and the Surefire M4FA or FA556AR added only 3.75" to barrel length over the K or 212s 4". I couldn't tell much difference shooting the FA556AR and the 212 side by side in sound or blowback. Apparently the end mount cans are as good or better as Surefire discontinued the overlap designed FA556AR late last year or early this year.Quoted: Is there any advantage to the "over-lap" design Always wondered this as well. ETA: The end mount cans have a better locking ring design. |

Quoted:
Is there any advantage to the "over-lap" design ? If I remember correctly, length behind the muzzle is 70% less effective than the same length in front of the muzzle. So yes, there is a benefit but as far as reducing overall length, that benefit is minimal. I'm told that reflex cans tend to have less back pressure but I don't really have much to compare it to. |
