Haha...never thought I'd do one of these...

OK so here goes...About 10 days ago I got back from vacation in San Antonio...the next day I had body aches...thought it was just too many roller coasters at sea world...next morning same thing...few days go by and I'm fine except a dull ache in my L flank where I tweaked my back on a water ride (or did I???).

Monday I go to work and I notice a rash...figured maybe I had a virus (Damn kids) and I also notice I have a sore spot on the back of my head (two actually about 4 inches apart).  The rash is gone after 48 hours...one spot on my head has not changed and the other has swollen slightly.  Also during that 48 hours my lymph nodes have swollen...(Jaw, neck, under arms, and groin...yep all of them)

I've narrowed it down to mono...rubella...AIDS...Leukemia...and West Nile.....

So what do yall think?

Sorry My kids already called dibs on EVERYTHING! and I'm going to the doc tomorrow.

We have mosquitos...BAD...could have been bit anytime...and WNV has been found around here for the last few years...

Hopefully it's just my kids trying to kill me with one of their funky school house bugs...

ETA:  It was the full body lymph node thing that got me really thinking though...

you've been bit by a brown recluse

after sending me all of your wifes underwear, seek medical help immediately

but it won't matter

once you start developing the rash, it's systemic

As soon as you start, and it's probably inevitable, make sure to leave me your guns in your Will.

Thanks...I'll take good care of them.

Did the rash on you hurt or burn?
Ever have chicken pox as a kid?
Might be shingles.

I had Lymes but it was caught early on. More body ache/soreness than anything else
(other than the 50 spots I had ALL over my body that 4 different DOC's said WTF is THAT??)

Blood work will reveal Lymes and Lyrica/Neurontin will fix the shingles up.

Like Zoomer said, headache, body aches, flu-like symptoms and rash are classic indicators of Lyme disease.
The rash appears at the very early stages, so it's easily cured with a course of antibiotics.

My first thought, too, but it sounds like the rash only lasted 48 hrs or so.

Where was the rash located, what did it look like?

I had Lymes but it was caught early on.

This sounds more likely, based on the data available.

That was the first thing to come to my mind.  Especially with the number of cases being super high this year
