Back when I bought my Jeep, i bought the extended service contract through ChryslerWarrantys.com. At the time, the vehicle had to be 4 years or newer, with less than 48k miles on it to be eligible for a service contract through Jeep. It looks like now there are no limits, just a higher price for older vehicles. Is this really the case?

If you think you NEED a warranty on a given vehicle, then you don't WANT said vehicle.

I would buy none, because it will not be honored anyway.

Then you will just have a broken car and be out the cost of the contract.

I had one on my E55.  It was the best money I ever spent.  Covered nearly everything but tires, brake pads and glass.

I had a New Yorker with a Chrysler service contract.

After 3 transmissions, 2 front ends, and 2 and 1/2 air conditioning systems, the service contract was the only part of the deal I didn't hate.

The only satisfaction I got was how much more the repairs cost Chrysler than the service contract cost me.

Make sure any service contract you get is from the manufacturer.

Some dealers sell non-manufacturer service contracts and they may not be honored at other dealers.
