Meh, gen 4. Wolf is some really underpowered ammo...use some Winchester 124gr NATO spec ammo and get back to us. Glock screwed the pooch with the Gen.4. Wolf was never a problem in previous generations. Yep. The Gen. 4 Glocks are the biggest reason I switched my prime suggestion for new pistol purchasers to a Sig 226 or 229DAK, with the proviso that if they can find a Glock 17 or 19 Gen. 3 to go with that. |

The gen 4 is a steaming turd. |

I recommend the M&P now over fourth gen Glocks. I hate the bore axis and manual of arms on Sigs myself. |

I might well do that in the future, but, and I really do need to rectify this, I have zero experience with the M&P, barring handling one at the shop. |

I've never had much luck with their pistol ammo though, too many dud primers. |

I've owned many nice handguns and the M&P - crappy trigger included - has done nothing to dissuade me from suggesting it to someone looking for a reliable and comfortable handgun. Gen3-or-earlier Glocks, M&P, CZ 75, Hi-Power and H&K P30 lead the pack in my opinion. |

I've never had much luck with their pistol ammo though, too many dud primers. I shoot pretty much nothing but Wolf and assorted other Combloc steel-case ammo. Even my Gen.4s are fine with it now (G21/22/19), but I wasn't an early adopter. But the damage is done. One thing Glock could always point to was its damned near freakish reliability. Even when the Gen.4 issues are cleared up, which they mostly are, the stigma will stay with them. From my understanding, we can blame Gaston's kids for that. I'd recommend an XD or M&P for a first-time shooter looking for a modestly priced polymer pistol. I wouldn't want to be explaining 'Well you see, as long as you have ejector A and extractor B, with Version 3.2952334D of this spring, you'll be fine!' |

A guy that hates glocks buys one, modifies it in any number of ways, uses the shitiest ammo you can buy, packs the action with dirt, then exclaims that because it failed to rechamber all glocks are junk.
Thats about the most unbiased, technical review I have ever seen, in GD anyway. ![]()

I wouldn't want to be explaining 'Well you see, as long as you have ejector A and extractor B, with Version 3.2952334D of this spring, you'll be fine!' I've watched a couple of vids on youtube from hickok45 about the G19 Gen4. Whenever he shoots budget ammo (UMC, WWB, Federal Champion) I noticed that the ejection seemed erratic and liked bouncing into his arms/face. Then he used Speer 147gr Gold Dots and the ejection was nice and consistent and tossed empties satisfactorily. In the video he states that the gun got better at ejection after a thousand rounds or so. My take is that the dual recoil rod DOES need the extra oomph provided by heavier/hotter ammo. I'm not saying that what Glock did with the gen4 9mm is right as the regular previous Glock 9mm's were more than fine for two decades, but that's what my observations are. Really wish they would have kept the dual spring recoil assembly to just the .40/.357SIG rounds even if the dual recoil spring does help with felt recoil in 9mm. |

Funny , I have NEVER shot anything but Wolf/B Bear/ S Bear in my Gen 4 glock , well over 2K by now , NEVER had ANY type of failure to fire , MAYBE 5 stove pipes? Shot prob about 5K of the same through a SR9 , same results. White box from walmart however , 200 rounds prob 10-15 FTF |

I can't believe I clicked that garbage. 1. Facepaint. Seriously. To record a YouTube video? What kind of homo puts on makeup to post a video on YouTube. That kind of homo. 2. What was the video supposed to prove? That his bubba'd up glock doesn't work right after he screwed with it? He added some sort of "spring cap" to his gun, and obviously painted it. Who knows what else he screwed up? Paint on the frame rails? Probably. If you want a valid test, use an unmodified gun, or perhaps one modified with factory parts by a COMPETENT smith. Or a 5 year old who is not as much of a retard as that guy. 3. If you are going to play dress up, and put on makeup to make it seem like you know what you are doing, you should have some semblance of an idea of what you are talking about. In the 30-40 seconds of that that I could bear to watch while skipping through, I heard numerous mistakes. Including the "failure to feed" that he described, while what I saw was a FTE. I'm sure that if someone could make it through the 10 minute retard session, they could list a lot more.

Since when is WWB "quality ammo"? I've shot a shit ton of it, but it's actually been the least reliable 9mm I've used (1 squib and countless rounds that were undercharged). The shit makes Wolf look operating room clean. WWB is the filthiest-burning ammo I ever used. |
