Tonight's Arfcom Fun Fact:  Blood Platelets.

Years and years ago, I donated blood platelets.  The process involved taking the blood out of your body, separating the platelets from the blood and then pumping the remaining blood back into your body.  I was hooked up to the machine for about two hours (and watched Reservoir Dogs) for the entire process.  They collected approximately the amount of platelets that would fill a can of soda.

The shocking part for me? - blood platelets are bright yellow.

See, this should have been in the test forum.  How do you expect others to want to go there, if you don't even post your own threads there

I guess it beats giving out hand-jobs for drug money.

I've done the pheresis thing a few times too.  Last time I did a double red cell donation, I got pretty sick from the anti-coagulant they give.  I'm kind of afraid to do pheresis again because of that.  Pheresis donations take longer than a normal blood donation, but it's worth it if your body isn't as wimpy as mine.

This post is an informative or possibly even an entertaining post - not something that belongs in the test post forum.

Perhaps if I wanted to test the photo to see how it appears - well, then that would be eligible for the TPF.

Bull shit! It took him 2 hours to collect for his platelets. I can give about 8 good handjobs in that time.

Someday, it's going to be a wondrous place!

I'm just waiting on a couple of final decisions to be made from Site Staff and then things are going to start happening there.

I donated blood to the Red Cross earlier this year.

I think they took about three gallons or so out of me.

Fuck that shit.  Not doing that again.  Felt like an 80 year old man for the next two days.

It was cool looking at those transparent bags that were practically bursting at the seams with dark red blood though.

I wondered what would happen if I poked a hole in one of the bags AND SQUIRTED RED BLOOD ALL OVER THE PLACE.

Anyway if you wind up in the ER and you need blood, and after that you start to develop an affinity for compact 1911s, then it's a pretty good chance you got mine.

Less than half of Gen. Custer's 7th Cavalry died at Little Big Horn. Most of the regiment survived.

John Wilkes Booth's fiancé also dated Abe Lincoln's son.

Lyme Disease sucks. I guaranty it.

I don't recall seeing any.

I was happy that they had a movie for me to watch.

A handie will only get you weed money. And if it's just weed that's your thing, you don't need to be out on the streets jackin off strangers.

I did Pheresis once and my lips went numb from the anti-coagulant. I'll stick with the regular donation from now on.

So they use a machine of sorts that collects your blood and then gives it back?

Once its outta me I don't want it back.

How can the machine that has handled other peoples blood not be contaminated?

And the tubes and hoses........

Yea , uh NO

Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliaphobia is the fear of long words.
A U.S. spinning penny is actually slightly more likely to end up tails because slightly more material is used to make the heads side.
