Do you or your SO pull through when parking and the space in front of you is empty?

I park halfway through so as to take up both spaces.

Whenever possible I will take up four spaces.

Normally, no. It makes loading groceries and such more difficult.

Further, in angled parking, which is incredibly common in my area, it positions you to pull out facing traffic in the parking lot.

Straight spots sure. Angled spots no because it'll leave you having to drive the wrong way out of the isle.

To park there, or when leaving?  I will pull through when leaving sometimes, but never to park.

Old job of mine made me take a driving course when I first got hired.  According to that course, you should always pull thru when available.  They quoted some stats that said parking lot accidents are statistically greater when backing out of space.  They used police, ambulance and fire dept. as an example that they always back into a spot or pull thru so they drive straight out when leaving.

With that said, I almost always pull thru when available but I don't go in search of spaces to do so.  Also when you have diagonal isles like at my local Walmart and grocery store, if you pull thru then you will most likely be leaving the spot by going the wrong way or against traffic which is a real pet peeve of mine.

Didn't your instructors teach you to always pull through when you can? Yes, yes they did.

Didn't yours teach you not to drive the wrong way? No, no they probably didn't...

Park facing out due to safety reasons.  When I pull out I can see traffic and in an emergency situation its easier to manuever.

I didn't do OTR training after school, I ran intermodel out of West Memphis for 9 days. No such thing as the wrong way.

I usually park pretty far away from the store to minimize damage to my truck.

"Combat Parking".

All the time. Sometimes, when you have to GTFO of dodge, you need to GTFO RTFN.

I pull through when I'm driving my roadster because I can easily make the turn to drive the "right" way.
I don't pull through when I'm driving my pickup, no way I can make that turn...  (assuming angled parking)

Of course if you need to ram somebody to get out of the parking spot it is better to do it with the rear of you vehicle so you don't take out the radiator.

related protip:

If you can't "combat park" by backing into the spot in less than 5 seconds, do your tactical lifestyle parking at the outer edge of the lot where you're not delaying us sheep

In my truck, I always pull through, angled or not. Having a trailer all the time doesn't leave other options. If its not pull through able, I'm taking 5 spots parking sideways.
In the wife's Tahoe, I park like 98% of the population.
Combat parking blows OPSEC

Not really. Loading groceries in the back with somebody's bumper touching the trailer ball = not winning
