I don't know much about them. I found a used, in new condition, P 01 for 485 with regular and night sights, 3 mags and an extra recoil spring for 485. Are they really an underrated company?

I think they are excellent firearms and the price can't be beat. I don't own one, but my brother has 2 and they are great guns and I shoot them a fair amount. I highly recommend them.

I've got a 85B and a 550 American.

I'm still familiarizing myself with the 500, but the 85B is like an extension of my hand. It's very accurate and it's very reliable. I've got 1500-2000 rounds through it and I've only had one stoppage that was caused by a powder puff WWB round.

The gun you are looking at is worth owning. Is it worth that price? That's a more difficult call to make. Like an earlier post says, that price isn't far below what they should go for new. On the other hand, used CZs aren't exactly common.

I absolutely love my P 01.  It feels amazing in my hand and I've been able to get some really tight groupings the last couple times I've gone out shooting with it.  I don't have too high of a round count through it but so far it's ran without a hiccup.

The only thing I don't like is that it has kinda dissuaded me from buying another 9 mm because I'm quite confident I don't think I can find anything I'll like better.

YMMV of course, but CZ is awesome as far as I'm concerned!

Yep, same place has a new one for 535 but the extra mag is worth 35 alone plus whatever the spring and extra sights are worth. It may come down to how "new condition" it is.

CZ's are excellent handguns. I have a few and they are by far, the finest handguns I own.
CZ's .22lr 452 series rifles are equally remarkable in their quality, craftsmanship, and accuracy.

Accurate and quality rifles.  My only gripe is the crap trigger, but it's easily and cheaply fixed with just a few parts.

Yea, took that one a few years ago.  On a MBP now.

It's a weird mixmaster of B and pre-B features.  I just bought it because it was a deal, but come to find out that if I had gone down the list of model changes and picked my favorites from each pile, I could scarcely have done better.  It was the first centerfire pistol my wife shot and it makes us both look like better shooters than we are.

I wish it had a blued finish though.  CZ can put a blue on a pistol that should be seen to be believed.  Colt and S&W did better in their glory days, but you can get the CZ now.

I did a lot of research before I bought my 75B and have to say I didn't find any bad or ugly only good.I think it's a safe bet on any of the more popular CZ's like the 75b ,PCR,P07 and so on that they are a top choice in a great pistol.I got rid of a Sig 226 that I hated and the CZ is everything I was hoping for when I bought the Sig years ago but the Sig didn't deliver.
Good luck in your research ,you will come around ,see you in the CZ forum !

Pros:

Inherently accurate design

Reliable, by my standards

Ergonomic

Excellent model line including Shadow factory target models, SA models and SP01s

Priced typically below $600 for most standard models

CZ Custom has most everything needed for CZs

.22 Kadet kit and pistols available for cheap practice

Safety models can be carried DA or cocked and locked

Cons:

Factory triggers on the standard models can be creepy and typically aren't the best out of the box, my 75C trigger was horrible out of the box and has stayed that way

Short slide height can make clearing drills difficult

I've seen some lock up on reloads and have to be disassembled to return to service

Seem to be difficult to find at times

I think they're the best 9mm pistol available myself.

85 is the ambi version of the 75

Stainless Steel 75's also have ambi safeties.

All Shadow models have ambi safeties.

Off the top of my head:

CZ 75 SA

CZ 75 Matte Stainless

CZ 75 SP01

CZ 85

CZ 85 Combat

I'm not sure if all the versions of the stainless models have the ambi safety but my matte CZ 75B pistol has ambi safeties.

It's my favorite 9mm.  It points perfectly in my hand, like it was built for me.  I've fired about 3500 rounds through it with no issues.  The very early ones had some issues with IIRC a bulge in the mag well, but CZ has great CS from what I have heard.

I also have a Dan Wesson PM from the CZ period and its beautiful.  A great shooter with enough custom parts to rival much more expensive 1911s.

Because of the P-07, I will be very, very cautious about ever buy another plastic gun from CZ. Don't misunderstand me, I LOVE their steel handguns, and usually carry an 85B Combat.

I sent my P-07 back to the factory three times because of issues with the plastic frame bulging. This was not with +P ammo or anything, just regular pressure WWB and TulAmmo stuff. After about two thousand rounds, the frame was so bulged that the gun would not go into battery on it's own, and this was across three different frames over about a six month period. When I got the fourth frame (i.e. after it was replaced for the third time), I sold it without firing it, took about a $100 loss over what I paid for it.

I read on another forum that CZ has since fixed the problem, but frankly, I'm not willing to give the model a fourth chance, and will stick with their steel-framed 9mm guns.

There were also several people on here that noted problems with their .4X caliber guns from CZ (.40 S&W & .45 ACP). I don't shoot either of those calibers, so I can't personally comment on that.

The bulging was in the frame on the slide rails. CS never gave me any problems about returning it, but I had to pay shipping to them each time, to the tune of $50. So, when I sold the gun, I was out $150 in shipping + $100 in loss of value, for a total of $250 out of my pocket.

Rimfire bolt guns (452 & 455) pistols (CZ75) and rifles (527 & 550 series especially  FS ).

If you don't own at least one category, you are a racist gun owner.

My PCR is about perfect.  The SA trigger is just right, the DA trigger could be a bit smoother but it is ok and will be fine in a situation where I might have to use it fast.  This gun has never failed to function in any way through about 2k rounds.  The Kadet Kit I bought for it dropped right in and shoots .22LR about as accurately and more reliably than my Buckmark.

Accessories can be problematic.  The IWB holster I bought for an XD-9 fits better for the PCR than it did for the XD but it is a single belt clip holster and does not hold the grip tight against my body. Most quality holster makers don't seem to list CZs among what they can fit and I have yet to buy one listed for an XD assuming it will work with my PCR.

The only other drawback is that I don't think I will ever be able to pronounce what CZ stands for (Česká zbrojovka ).  I first heard of CZ in my dirt bike riding days when they made a 500 cc single cylinder 2 stroke leg breaker that would launch you into a world of hurt in a heartbeat but riding one was a sure sign of someone with some serious cajones.

I own two CZ firearms. One is a CZ-550 Varmint in .22-250 that was cut a re-crowned. I also bedded the rifle. I have shot Sub-Moa 6.8" group out to 750 yards with it. I run out of talent past that distance though.

And I also own an early CZ-97B .45 with no front serrations, and in the deep polished blue finish. BEAST of a gun and beautiful.
