How would you describe your perfect moment?
I think im pretty close right now.
Last week I got my ass handed to my be some girl. I was test firing my new FN Hipower which I practically stole from local shop. (Converted from € to $ - 230$, weapon NIB)
Horrible trigger, thanks to trigger safety, totally ruins otherwise perfect gun - ergonomics are fine, but trigger was too narrow and pull required so much effort that my finger was sore after 100 or so rounds.
My girlf friend is out of town today. I got the whole house to myself. After getting my ass up I ran 8 miles. Reason for that was that I needed 2mm and 4mm punches and store was 4 miles away. Weather was nice so I didnt feel like driving. Picked up my order from local post office on my way back (Cylinder and Slide trigger reduction spring kit, Cylinder and Slide extra wide combat trigger, Cylinder and Slide Commander style hammer, Cylinder and Slide sear, some custom made cocobolo grips etc. Also bought proper German beer.
I just spent 4 hours on balcony, enjoying the sunshine and polishing the sear and all other machined surfaces mirror smooth. (I am engineer (Msc. Tech) by trade, however I do build car engines and other stuff on my spare time so I feel comfortable around tools and machines. Guns are not exception.) I installed the new trigger, hammer, sear and the grips. Spent some trying to figure out why on earth some f*cking moron would design trigger safety construction like that.
Now the trigger pull is perfect. Extremely light, constant - now I think I understand what the "glass rod trigger" 1911 guys always talk about means.
So now I am sitting here, perfectly relaxed and thinking about 5 weeks of paid summer vacation ahead. (Dear employer - yes, I can work the whole summer and keep shit running while everyone else is enjoying their summer vacation, but that comes with a price.)
Does it get any better than this?
Questions -
-I usually use Glocks and have dry fired them without any problems - how about this browning? Ok to dryfire it without some inert rounds?
