I was visiting my son and daughter-in-law last night when I asked if I could borrow a newspaper.
'This is the 21st century, old man,' he said. 'We don't waste money on newspapers. Here, you can borrow my iPod.' I can tell you, that bloody fly never knew what hit it... |

Gotta love it!
I recently had to buy steel wire for GP use for the first time. 40 some years of bieng a farm hick/hayseed, and never thought about it much, but slowly and without me noticing, I burned through our wire clothes hanger supply, and wire coat hangers are extinct according to the wife. Instead of grabbing a coat hanger to insurance wrap an old ball hitch lock, now I gotta unroll paid for steel wire. Old Bailing wire was great for that, but it's long ago extinct as well. Don't get me started on having to use real shit paper in the outhouse either...damn kids and thier electronics. |
