Tell us about a crazy dream or one that seems to recur often... I'll start: This dream started when I was 7 years old. I would be in a huge black arena with a spotlight in the center and a stepladder within that light. I would walk up to the ladder and look up, and it would go up beyond space. Then I would start climbing, before long I was very high into this darkness still on the ladder. Then I would look down and see just a speck of light...the ladder falls...I literally jolt and wake up right before I hit the light (with the sense of falling all the way). I have had this dream probably 10-12 times and I am in my 20's...exact same, every time. Your turn!

Climbing stairs with an almost unbearable amount of weight.
Getting weightless in an elevator as it starts and stops. I get that o shit feeling at the bottom of my stomach when riding in elevaters in real life too. 100 lbs trigger pull and ineffective bullets. Jumping in the air and not being able to stop bouncing. |
|
I used to work in the restaurant business - i still have dreams where I am waiting tables.
lots of people that were waiters have these dreams frequently. everything is going wrong. you can't get to your tables, you can't get the food out, you can't get to the computer to put the order in, there's no ice in the ice machine.... |
| I have been having a recurring type of dream where I keep finding hidden attic spaces in a house that I just moved into. One was a gigantic house that was built into the side of a hill, I found some hidden access door and climber ladders and found a secondary attic. The attic was huge and obviously not visible from the outside of the house ( I know, makes no sense) and i found it full of old antiques, rugs, suits of armor, etc. The next dream I had was moving into a split level ranch and finding a hidden room with a door. When I opened the door i saw an old Sears store that was completely stocked but appeared that no one had been into in years. I have had these dreams for the last couple of years, I normally do not remember any of my dreams but these two keep coming around. |
|
I'm in college (been out almost a decade) and it's finals week. I suddenly realize there's some class that I signed up for but somehow just forgot to attend all semester. So now I'm in a panic trying to catch up.
I've had that one dozens of times. I had it a few weeks ago and it was super realistic. As the panic set in I remember thinking "this is just like that dream I always have.... oh you've got to be shitting me." And then I woke up. A very few times I've been able to lucid dream. For whatever reason I will suddenly realize that I'm in a dream and I will start paying attention to all the details of every thing around me, because it's hard to beleive that I'm "creating" that world in my head. |

About the closest things I have to nighmares usually involve some house with an attic that I am forced to climb up to but I have an increasing feeling of dread the closer I get. Sometimes I have to crawl up through some really impossibly tight space which makes sense because I'm clausterphobic. |

| My recurring dream starting when I was 18 and I'm 37. I have dreams about tornados, usually several coming at me. I try to alert the people around me, but nobody will listen. Over the years, the tornados got closer and closer. Finally, they would hit my house or where ever I happened to be. I could see, hear and feel every terrifying detail. I wake up in a panic quite often. It really is horrible. |
| Lately I have had a recurring dream about the house I live in, of course just as i am sorting it out I wake up but it has something to do with either the basement or the attic. Years ago I had a recurring dream about being in a big old building and walking up staircases......it reminded me of some of the old schools buildings I went to as a kid. |

Yesterday my wife showed me a door in one of the closets that would go in to the area. It has been nailed shut and I have not had time to open it up yet. |

My recurring nightmare (actually haven't had it in 2-3 years, more so when I was in middle school and high school) was somehow a cross between aliens and the village eventhough the dreams started before the village ever came out.
I am in colonial times and the monsters (which kind of look like the xenomorphs) come in through the wall. The wall will start a hairline crack in the center between the floor and ceiling and then radiate outwards getting larger and larger in a circular pattern. Once it gets pretty big (maybe a 4" diameter circle) the alien/monster thing will bust through. The only way to stop it before they come in is to take a giant sledgehammer thing and hit right in the center of the crack while it is forming. After it busts though we only have flintlocks and while we can kill it with guns, it is hard to do and will kill everything it can get a hold of before you do. |

| The one specific recurring dream I have is pretty odd. I'll be in some sort of public space, when I feel the need to go to the bathroom. When I enter, the room will be indescribably filthy; feces on the floors, walls, even ceiling. I will go to use the least filthy stall, however the doors and partitions will be full of holes, and people will be walking by, peering in at me as I do my business. |

Not so much a recurring dream, but a recurring theme in my dreams is not being able to open my eyes. I will feel like my eyes are glued shut, except that I can sort of see through them. It's become common enough that when it happens, my immediate thought is "I'm dreaming", and I'll either wake up suddenly or become lucid. |
|
I've had several dreams where I couldn't pull the trigger, or the barrel was curved. No matter how I tried to compensate for that I couldn't hit the bad guy.
Several falling dreams. One dream in particular stands out. This was during midterms my first year at the university. I was stressed and took melatonin. I had a dream that consisted of several hills have eyes guys being in my domicile. I walked in and see them holding my girlfriend. I go to draw down and for some reason my side arm is out of battery I go to fixing that. All the freaks are jumping around and making sounds I'm fixing to get one or more of them since I got my gun back in battery and out of the corner of my eye I see movement. This ginger fuck with long hippie hair and yellow teeth is just smiling and I see him raise up a "pen gun" and I get shot in the face and it goes black. I woke up screaming as I could feel the pain of the bullet. My girlfriend who was in my bed woke up wondering what the fuck was going on and I noticed I had night sweats so her and my sheets were wet. Moral of that story, fuck melatonin and I really would never want to have a dream like that again. |

Multiple reoccurring dreams.
I'm in a desert landscape, on another planet (?) with hundreds if not thousands of others. We are all dressed in ragged clothes. We are all there for a single, agreed purpose, bigger than all of us. We dig, we search, we find nothing, but continue regardless. We are all starved, poorly hydrated, and committed to the search. It is windy, blowing sand, bright sun, 100+ degree heat. We start to talk among ourselves about leaving the planet. There are no people in command above us... It is as if we are alone on the planet, and guided by foreign life forms. |

I've had a similar one to that too. Some gross locker room and it's like a maze to find the toilets. I've also dreamed that the toilet in my office is just out in the main area and people keep trying to talk with me while I'm crapping. I have way too many messed up dreams. My mind must be a clusterfuck.

I live in an old house (1885)and there is one section of attic I have never been in because I thought there was no access to it. Yesterday my wife showed me a door in one of the closets that would go in to the area. It has been nailed shut and I have not had time to open it up yet. Sounds like a stupid whats in the safe thread! My first thought as well. So help me God; if you make a thread about opening your attic, you better include the grand reveal in the OP or on the first page. I can't take another aneurism like the one the last safe thread gave me. |
|
Every now and then I'll dream that my teeth start to fall out. I could be chewing something or just grind my teeth together and they will all pop out. I spit out a handful of them and just look at them in horror. The worst is that it all feels so real too.
-And I do brush and mouthwash/floss regularly. |
| I dream that I come home from work late at night. It's dark, raining, bad storm. The power is out. I walk into my house with an eerie feeling. As I make my way through the halls, I am about to enter the kitchen as an old, balding man with gray hair, gray lifeless skin, green eyes, steps out of the shadows with a scalpel in his hand. He slashes, stabs and reaches for me. I run into the kitchen to create distance, draw my pistol, fire to slidelock, but he is not phased. It's as if I am firing blanks... No blood. He charges me again, striking mortal wounds one after another. I lay on the black/white tiled floor in a pool of blood, lit up only by the faint moonlight and frequent lightning strikes. I begin to see in grayscale as I fade out, the man still standing at my feet. |

I always have a dream where I realize that its halfway through the semester and I discover I have been signed up for a class that I had forgotten about. I've had this one a few times. I always end up half asleep thinking, wtf? I actually had it not too long ago, and it took me a minute to realize it was summer.

I frequently have dreams that include me needing to shoot a bad guy or a predator (dog, wolf, bear, mt lion, etc) and i either cant get my gun to function or the shots are ineffective. Its like the gun is just locked up tight and the slide wont move at all or i can see my shots hitting where i want but they just have no effect. I have a dream that includes one of these two scenarios at least once or twice a week. There was only one time that i remembered dreaming where my gun worked great and i was shooting great, it was like i couldnt miss and i was kicking ass.
Recurring dreams are crazy, i need to google this shit and see what is up. |

| For the last year, Ive had a dream of being in the local Pizza Hut and an ex is sitting a few tables over. They say something when leaving a friend blocks the door and i get up and start shooting them. Gun works fine i own the pistol i use in the dream. Can hear the brass hitting the window by me and feel it bounce back into my arm. i leave and go to my truck and always wake up at that part. |
| Had a dream where I was being followed by those Easter Island statues. I'd feel like I was being watched and turn around and there'd be a few giant statues just standing there. I'd walk a little further and turn around and they're a little closer, but just standing there while I look at them. They are pretending not to be mobile. |

I remember one where I was taking an order for a table of 8, and as I begin to take the order, every other table I have gets seated by the hostess. So I'm trying like hell to get all the order info for the first table, but every person at the table speaks a different language. Not only that, they each have thier own interpreter, so it was taking ages. |

Dream I had. Yeah it'd been refined from the dream state a bit to add clarity, but this is what it was. The emotion stayed with me a few days.
So we walked a few meters away from the group as they continued to consolidate the remaining gear and supplies. As we walked she put her hand into mine and I barely caught her near silent "thank you" as we passed Linda's body. I didn't reply but I did squeeze her hand slightly. I found a spot for us where the maintenance shed butt against the building that had some bushes to offer some dignity. She threw her arms around me and one of her legs, nearly throwing me off balance. "Tell me you love me." She pleaded and I looked into her beautiful eyes and could see the desperation there, tears pooling on her lower lash. Her moments were so limited that this hardcore mercenary Soldier's basic desires of needing love broke it's bounds. Her first tear streaked down my cheek. I could not refuse and I held her tightly as if I truly did love her. I guess in that moment I really did love her, there was no reason not to give her my all. I whispered into her ear that I loved her so dearly and I ran my fingers through her hair with my free hand. She tried to kiss me and I bumped my head against the wall jerking my lips away from her. "We can't kiss baby" I softly whispered into her ear when I recovered, "but I want to." I really did. She hugged onto me harder as she whispered "I know" and I could feel her body shutter slightly as her sobs unleashed uncontrollably upon me. She held me so tightly my plate inched up and it became hard for me to breathe, but I did not care. I could smell her sweaty hair and it smelled very good. Suddenly she eased her grip and we slowly separated ourselves, she wiped away her tears and brushed some hair out of her face. With a shy smile she looked towards the ground, her cheeks reddening more, and said, "Ok, I am ready." I flipped the safety off as she knelt before me and I raised the gun to the top of her beautiful head. "You know what? Just lay down ok?" I asked her, I couldn't shoot her like this. Kneeling before me. I am no God and she deserved not to crumble to the ground. I loved her now. It was different with Linda as me and her had worked together for the Company so long that we always knew one of us would be offing the other. This woman... Angel Two, I didn't even know her name, was personal now. "Okay." She said as she laid down facing the wall in a fetalish position. I crouched by her head and I placed the muzzle against the back of her head. She jerked slightly but relaxed. "You did great baby." I whispered as the dull pop created her personal exclamation point on life. Her body slowly contorted and her legs stretched out fully pushing her a few inches along the ground as her body slowly twisted towards the wall. I watched until she stopped moving. I checked the gun and the slide was locked to the rear, I slid it back into her holster and I took the small velcro Millon Contracting "Angel Two" patch off her empty magazine pouch and put it into my pocket. I stood up and returned to the group, never looking at them because I knew most were expecting me to do this for them when their time came. |
