got an old lawn chief rider <mtd, yea i know it was cheap> was changing rear tires dur to dry rot and ended up pulling the axel out. i assume there is some sort of clip on the end inside the tranny. this mower isn;t worth a 200.00 repair bill and it looks like i have to tear the tranny down to replace the clip. is this worth fixing or should i just buy a new mower and be done with it. i bought this one dirt cheap with the hopes of it getting through one season. it would have made it if the tires held up

Can you read the model number off the sticker? If so, post it, it may just be a e- clip or c-ring.

pretty sure it is but it looks like a ROYAL pia to get the box off and take it apart. Screw it i just ordered a new mower. this one was a 96 model and based on what drained out of it it was gonna need service soon. i bought it 6 months ago for 150.00. i couldn't have hired a teeneager that cheap so it's paid for itself..

may try to dump it for parts on craigslist
