I didn't see a new member area so this seemed the most appropriate area.  Long time gun lover here and I just bought my first black rifle, a Windham SRC. I can't wait until Saturday when I can stop fondling it and start popping out 40 cent coins. :)

Nice to meet you all and wow what a forum.  I am an IT geek by day and have been on the Internet for 20 years and can honestly say the size and quality of posts on ar15.com is stunning.   Amazing wealth of knowledge here and I am thrilled to learn from ya'll.

I swear, over the last month or so, I've seen eleventy billion new users start a thread within their first 1-3 posts, asking about or saying they just bought a Windham.

Either they have an amazing marketing campaign to new EBR owners, or..................

I actually didn't know the story of Windham before I bought it.  I bought it because of the way it felt in my hands and the recommendation of a gun shop I whole heartily trust.

I'm not necessarily calling you a company shill.

I'm just saying it's weird how many threads on Windham that I've seen started in the past month, all from people who have just joined the site.  Maybe I'm jaded from all the shills I've seen over at the Saiga boards.  People acting like consumers, when they're proven to be shills for whatever company they work for.

In any case, I didn't mean to jump to conclusions.  Welcome to the site and enjoy your new bang stick.

My Chili Recipe :)

1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
1 medium onion diced
4 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp cumin
1/2 Tbsp cayenne pepper
1/2 Tbsp garlic powder
1 12 oz beer (nothing crazy, light lager like Miller light or Yuengling)
28 oz can of diced tomatoes
1 16 oz can of light red kidney beans (put in a strainer and rinse with cold water)
1 16 oz can of chili beans (put in a strainer and rinse with cold water)
2-3 cups beef broth
Salt and Pepper

Warm some olive oil up in a pot or pan and add the beef, pork, onion, 1 Tbsp of chili powder and salt and pepper.  Brown the meet then strain the contents of your pan.  Add the meat back to a pot and then add everything except the beans.  When you have added everything, the liquid level should be a little above your meat.  Add additional beef broth if you need more liquid.  If you don’t want to use beer, just use more beef broth.   Bring to a boil then reduce heat and cook for 30 minutes.  Add the beans then cook 15 more minutes.
