Halal meats.. how does that work?
a local "Middle Eastern Restaurant" sent me a flyer showing their dine-in and carry - out menu.. they offer all sorts of Mediterranean and ME traditional foods, and burgers, pizza, subs, salads, yakkity yak.. three menu items offer BACON ![]()
disinformation, or backslidden Muslims ? |

I can't help but wonder if THAT shows up in his next performance evaluation ! |

Its.....bacon!
Everyone likes bacon. It is not pork bacon. It may be beef, goat or turkey but not pork if it is halal. We had a local pizza joint that was halal. They replaced all the pork with goat etc. It actually was pretty good. I don't eat pork so really enjoyed getting a pepperoni pizza with goat based pepperoni. A lot of pepperoni really is goat. We here in america substitute more pork in it. Not authentic unless it has goat in it anyway in my opinion. |

Is not possible to sell items that are both halal and haram from the same location?
Hell, their in America, serving an American population and trying to run a business that makes money. Maybe they don't keep strictly halal like so many Jewish folks in this country don't keep strictly kosher. |

I dunno. That's why I asked.

I found the prominently posted 'not halal' sign to be a bit ironic in that the wound-up dude clearly should know that some of the items are not halal. |

Cross contamination IS an issue if you're keeping strictly halal. You can just separate counters, utensils and pots&pans and it won't be an issue.
A muslim CAN sell bacon -pork-, alcohol etc in a non-muslim country. There's no rule against that. Anyone who says otherwise is ignorant of the religion. Halal means the animal was slaughtered by cutting the arteries and trachea for large animals and cutting off the head for poultry; by either a muslim or a "person of the book". An animal slaughtered by a christian or a jew can be halal as long as it was slaughtered by cutting it's throat. But this is a very abbreviated version. If anyone's interested in the intricacies for some reason, you can IM me. |
