Is this a good gift idea for a 6yo? I'm not sure if something like this would be better than maybe a kindle fire. Hive thoughts?

| My six year old daughter has a 3ds and she does just fine with it. She's had a regular DS since she was about 4 1/2 after she stole my wifes DS for herself. THe biggest problem for me was the games and the stylus are small enough that she has lost some of them. Get a good carrying case for the games to go along with it. |

Yeah, six year olds love them. Make sure you get some Nerf armor. It has saved ours many times.

My sons have DSi's with the mod chip. Great for book reader (touchscreen is fun), movie player, music player, surfs the web (with a wifi connection), has a Paint program, list goes on and on.
Let me know if you want some links to the modchips that are easiest to install. ETA: I use them almost as much as my sons, as it's a great cheap book reader. |
