For the people that use them for work. Surveyors on this site liked the Fiskars brush cutter.
My question is how do you secure it when it is not needed at the moment. I love the tool but hate the plastic holder that it comes in. Yes, I do use this for my job. And YES, it is bad ass.

most hardware stores sell leather sheaths next to the machetes, that's what we use. I've seen sheaths for the miniature brush axes as well, but I prefer a regular 22" machete for general purpose work.
One of these days I'm going to make a bigger kydex press and crank out some machete sheaths. I'm pretty sure every surveyor in the state would buy one over the leather or abs plastic options. |

make a sheath I scored a USMC WWII machete http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-WW2-COLLINS-BOLO-SQUARE-MACHETE-FIGHTING-KNIFE-/110845810859?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19ceecd8ab |

Best bang for the buck is Condor/Imacasa. Paying more than that, and I'd want to go Norwegian. I have a old 18" Collins (late 50's early 60's) that I still use some. A newer ish 20" Tramontina that is just to big here. The brush cutter(19.95) is the better tool. |

These are a bird beak blade. So i am thinking i may have to make my own. Just looking for ideas. |
