That is what some would call a tackle box gun.

I love it!!

THAT IS AWESOME!  I need to find something like that.

I've shot 2 of those.
they're OK.

The top-break H&Rs are very underrated, if you find a deal on one of those.

Just a small gun to toss in the tackle box.  Nothing proud, but a fun little plinker.

I shot one and liked it fine.  Good score.

My brother had one of those when we were kids.

It was pretty fun, but you had to run the cylinder

around two or three times to fire all the rounds.

I'm guessing you're one of those guys that won't pay more than $60 for a SKS or $40 for a K98 because that's what you payed back in the day?

The first gun I ever shot.  My old man kept one for home defense .  He's better educated now.

I got an H&R 999 "Sportsman" for free!

Unfortunately it was the kind of "free gun" that no one wants to get.

I still enjoy it though! Great little guns.

Pull the trigger once and fan the hammer 8 more times.

Does that work on DA/SA guns?

I'm not entirely sure to be honest. The 999 is DA only so it works on that model.

He is not too far off the mark as they seldom fetch much more than $125.00 in my area. I bought one last summer along with a matching K98 bayonet/scabbard for $110.00. If memory serves I sold the H&R for $100.00.

That said there is nothing at all wrong with them as a field .22. It's not like you can find that many all steel revolvers for $160.00.
