Can someone explain to me the fascination with leveling kits for trucks? Trucks typically have a forward rake and these leveling kits raise the front end, correct? Are these leveling kits for people that never have weight in the beds of their trucks?
It seems dumb to change things like this on a truck. The engineers designed it that way for a reason. |

Hmm....
I always thought leveling kits were kind of silly, but figured that it was something to be expected now that every second soccer mom is driving a diesel dually or 4X4 Suburban. What really puzzles me is the squat phenomenon, and why somebody would look at a truck displaying it and think that it looks nice in some way. |

It's usually the shackles in the rear that will be shorter or longer. They can be supplemented with airbags so no load capacity is lost. Engineers design vehicles with compromise to suit all needs of a customer.
I like the look of leveled trucks as long as they aren't lowered. I'll be damned if I have to slow down for fucking speed bumps!
