| Anyone know of a decent one? Thinking one for the beach and other places. Nothing too fancy but I have wanted to do this for a while and taking a 2 week trip to the beach this year. Dont expect to find much but more of an early AM get away for a bit time... |
| I always recommend the Garrett Ace 250 or Fisher F2 for beginners. Very capable detectors that will serve you for years without breaking the bank. I have several MD's that cost a LOT more than those, but my F2 still gets the most use simply because it's so easy to use and works so well for the majority of my detecting needs. It's also very light and easy to swing. The filter settings are simple and intuitive. Hard to go wrong with either one. Garrett and Fisher are kinda like chocolate/vanilla, Ford/Chevy or Canon/Nikon. Everybody has a favorite, but they are pretty much equal. They just do the same things in slightly different ways. |

Was looking at the Garrett 250 on ebay last night. Seems in the right price range for me as well....Will post pic of the thousand in coins and old pirate booty that I find...hahaha
