| Last night my laptop was acting up a bit, so I decided to turn it off, and then back on. Only one problem; it won't turn on at all now! Battery is good, AC adapter is plugged in and fine, but it is dead as can be. Is there anything that I can do? |

Been dropped lately? Get too hot? I had an alienware laptop do this. It got too hot and the video card warped. Had to open the case and gently force some pins back together. You may have had a connection come loose. If it is under warranty, don't open it. Send it in. Computer "repair" shops will rape you. Better off buying a new one

It's 7 years old, so no warranty on it. It was getting a little warm yesterday. Heat kIlls laptops. Seven years old, might just be dead component. You can pull the hard drive and put it into some larger laptops as a slave drive to retrieve your files, unless the hard drive is dead. You can find new laptops for $400 now, and while not top of the line, they will be faster than your old one. Just suggestions. |

Glad to hear its alive again, but at 7 years old don't expect it to last forever. Be sure to back everything up. yeah, thats a good long life for a laptop Agreed....he got lucky. But as mentioned, you can get something FAR superior to what you have now for $400-$500 |
