http://www.avclub.com/articles/dish-network-drops-amc-ifc-and-sundance-offers-com,73540/ If you're a Dish Network subscriber, better enjoy this season of Mad Men because it could end up being the last one you watch through your TV: Dish has just announced that it will drop all of AMC's networks—which also include IFC, Sundance, and WeTV, in addition to its flagship—at the end of June. The decision came with the explanation that Dish took issue with AMC's "high renewal cost when compared to their low viewership," |
| DISH has been through this crap with several of their networks. I remember missing several episode of Sons of Anarchy when DISH has feuding with FX. It's all about the $$$$$$$. I'm sure they'll come to an agreement soon & offer "catch up" episodes. Both sides have too much to lose. |

Cable companies play this game all the time. After much sniveling and hand wringing, and a rate increase, AMC will be back on the air. Yep my cable company has done this a few times, sometimes the channels blacked out for a week or two but they renegotiate and its back. |
| I dropped AMC around a decade ago when they stopped playing 'American Movie Classics' and started playing commercials. I dumped cable/satellite when I figured out how much I was paying each month for only a few channels that I was interested in. Netflix/Netflix streaming/Hulu FTW. |

I don't get it. AMC has a few of the highest rated shows right now. How can they have "low viewership" I saw somewhere they drew like a million or two (households?). If Charter ever drops AMC my wife will need to be restrained. She's a fan of The Killing and MM. |

| I got a letter the week before the Walking Dead season finally stating AMC was demanding a huge price increase from sudden link and sudden link didn't want to pay it. They will work it out. AMC will get a rate increase the cable company will make sure it isn't as big as they wanted it to be. |
