Alright to all the ones on here more technology inclined.
My Cable bill went from $120 to $165 in less then 6 months and it's really pissing me off, I do have internet and phone with my cable I see I can have internet and phone for $60, so my question is if I was to buy a Roku box and paid a monthly fee for a few other things like Netflix what would the monthly bill be. Or should be asking for the ones that dumped cable what are your monthly fees now and what subscriptions do you have |

We used to pay $100/mo for cable and internet. We both have cell phones so we skipped the phone.
Last year we dumped cable and out internet bill went to $40/mo. We had Netflix already at $10/mo. So we got a Roku and pay $10/mo for Netflix+ $8/mo for Hulu+. I've thought about doing Amazon Prime for $50/yr as well. Much cheaper than cable, and Ican watch pretty much anything on TV. |

I went the other way for the exact opposite reasons. 
15/3Mbps Internet was $62/month since it wasn't bundled with TV. I was bumping up against Comcast's 250GB limit every month with Hulu and Netflix's help. I went to 30/6Mbps Internet with Basic HD service (couple hundred channels) for $80. Getting 36/6. After dropping Hulu and Netflix I'm paying the exact same amount and not chewing through bandwidth and I got a serious bump in speed as a bonus... |

My problem is that my wife is technically challenged. Switching back and forth between devices is problematic. I need a way to pull everything together in one interface x 4 TVs in the house. Quoted:

There's a home screen where you select what service/app you want to use. I stream everything through that, no need for separate devices, and it's easier to use than the expensive TVs I've run into.* *Went to a house my buddy was watching. Incredibly expensive TV setups in all the rooms. Even though it was all in 1 device (the TV) it was clunky and nearly impossible to navigate and the only netflix we could watch was what was in the house owners Que, no searching for programs. ETA: They were using the Logitech Harmony One remotes. You can get 2-3 Rokus for that price. |

Call them up and complain. Ours went from 100 to 140 then we called and got it dropped to 115. They are bastards I did just that after I posted this thread they dropped me from the $165 down to a new package they have for $110 I keep everything I have but the had to upgrade my internet to the fastest they have, and they have a new thing that when you call them they will have a guy out to update your modem within 2 hours, and he was out. I have brighthouse price is good for 2 years |
