I'm looking at these two (for handguns):

The Gun Digest Book of Combat Handgunnery
by Chuck Taylor ISBN: 0873491866

The Tactical Advantage: A Definitive Study of Personal Small-Arms Tactics
by Gabriel Suarez ISBN: 0873649753

Which one is recommended (or both)?

Other recommendations?

I have read The Tactical Advantage.  At the time I was quite impressed with it, but have tempered my enthusiasm a little since then.  The loss of enthusiasm came as I have learned/realized that some of the techniques are applicable only to SWAT teams doing dynamic entries.  For instance, his approach to clearing doorways puts you in unnecessary danger when you clear the zones missed when pieing the doorway.

Do any of those books teach how to focus through fear and other natural responses?

I don't know, but I figure if you're going to be soiling yourself, you might as well have some knowledge and training to fall back on while you're doing it. he he
