Every year when I'm doing my taxes I end up furious.  Who's with me?  Post your rage here.

It pisses me off so bad that I don't even file till 4/15!  I never get a refund and have to pay about a K extra..........I don't want to let them use my money free for a year.

Paying my taxes doesn't really piss me off.

People at the grocery store paying with food stamps?  Yeah, that does it.  Along with any number of other wastes of money.

BTDT

I'll give the government a free loan if it means I don't have to rage at the thought of sending them even MORE money.

If you somehow feel better by sending them more money have at it.  I can't say the same.

I don't get mad really, but it hurts.

Anytime someone plays with my money, they are playing with my emotions

For the very first time I had to pay the IRS money. Fuck.

Next year I get a little back.

I hate the fact that I am in that special middle class set of brackets that gets fucked.

Make too much for the Earned income credit? Yep.

Make too much to get jack shit back? Yep.

Make too much to get federal aid for college? Yep.

I just had to re-calculate mine since one of my 1099's was wrong.

Now I owe even more.

Self employed, barely surviving and I have to pay in a chunk.

I pay my acct $450 for my personal taxes.

No aggravation, no fear, no missed legit deductions.

Oh, I'm paying plenty.  I won't be getting a refund.

But it's still the waste and entitlements that infuriates me.  I don't mind buying F-22's and aircraft carriers.

You didn't get mad on the PA tax return when it asked you to itemize EACH internet purchase you made (by amount and date) for 2011?

I still haven't filed ... in part because of the above question.  I am still trying to get all that information.

The Government thinks I don't pay enough so this year I get to pay an extra $6k in Alternative Minimum Tax.

Turbotax calms me down.

The old days of pencil and paper are what aggravated me.

That and not having the right record in the file when it came time to need it.

The rage comes after the wife finishes her portion, then turns the computer over to me.
I enter income info, and a nice green refund goes down the tube into a devastating red total.

Then, I look over my stack of receipts and invoices knowing there's a tough and uncertain road ahead.

I bought a CD version of Turbotax this year.  When it said my refund was going to be $x,000, I knew something was wrong.  I went on TurboTax online and got a refund of $1xx instead.    I'm fairly sure the latter is the correct version; something is seriously wrong with Turbotax if they can't get their own software to agree (and yes, I did run the update process on the CDROM version of TT).

I had a negative AGI last year and got hit with about 10K in AMT.

PLEASE don't get me started.

Took me all of 15 minutes. Got a grand back from the feds, and a hundred from the state.

Best I can recall, I've never owed money.

We find that its worked well for us in the decade or so we've been using it.

You also have to pre-plan to maximize whatever deductions you can throughout the year. We always get receipts for charitable donations etc now, where before we'd often just donate without getting a receipt.

It's amazing how gov't employees get a paid holiday for something most people don't know about.

Paying taxes is no the real problem.   It's that fact the YOU have to prove to the DOTGOV the amount of money that is NOT owed.   They would gladly not argue with you if you failed to claim any deductions, etc. and NOT send you a check.

Painless, aside from all the money that's stolen from us.

I would probably do the same, except I think I might owe this year, so I don't want to owe the interest in August.
