As a gun owner on Red Circus, I've always heard he was a gun owner but never seen proof until now

Who is Joe Perry?

He is the lead guitarist of Aerosmith.  He's kind of right-leaning in his politics, not a bad player either.

I always heard him and Stephen Tyler were into machine guns.

Ted Nugent outed him as an NFA owner in one of his books years ago. Tyler too I think.

God, Guns, and Rock and Roll.  I got a personalized, autographed copy.  My sister bought it off of Nuge's website for my birthday about 10 years ago or so.

I would be surprised if this is true since they're from Massachusetts
and have been endorsing Democratic candidates since right before the
dawn of time. If you can prove me wrong, I will gladly listen.

How folks come to the incoreect biases I do not know. 5 seconds with google:

Joe Perry, the legendary rock guitarist and co-founder (with Steven
Tyler) of Aerosmith, was on Capitol Hill Thursday, where he met with
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and performed onstage at a Rock Stars of
Science conference promoting the health sciences and scientific
research.

Perry endorsed the Arizona Republican last fall in McCain's failed
bid for the presidency
, and he was very impressed with the senator when
he met him Thursday.

Joe Perry was next door neighbors with a friend of mine when I grew up in MA (1980's).  He was a very nice guy, and he gave my friend one of his guitars.  I used to see Steven Tyler around, and he looked as bizarre every day as he does on TV.

I've got one, too, but was fortunate enough to get it personally signed.

I share a mutual friend with Ted. For whatever it's worth, his "schtick" isn't a schtick.

What you see on TV is the real deal...
