I have an iPod Touch which was sync's to a computor that is no longer stable (virus) and I have long forgotten the account name and pw.. I recently traded in my Droid for an iPhone 4s and opened up a new iTunes account for my iPhone.

Is there a way to sync up my touch without loosing what's on it. IOW, can I sync it to the new iTunes account and not loose whats on it?

No.

However, if you download Senuti and use it to download your iPod to your computer, you can then synce the iPod and add all the downloaded music into the new iTunes account, the resynch.

I had to do this once when my computer drive crashed. Most of the music on it wasn't iTunes stuff and I had long since ditched the CD's.

You shouldn't have created a new account.

Recover the password for your old one.

Then resync your iphone with your original itunes account.

You can copy your music from your ipod to itunes by selected "transfer purchases" but you still must authorize the computer (by entering the username/pw they were purchased with) to play those songs purchased with that account.

Won't work with music purchased from iTunes.  DRM.

This is the right way to go.  Should have done this from the start.  Would you create a new account on Arfcom if you forgot your password?

Is Koku for PC?  It told me that Senuti was for MAC only.

I'm sorry I wasn't more specific, most of the music on the Touch is not purchased from iTunes. I can add the source material to my new library and re download and set up the playlists but I was hoping to avoid all that extra work.

Ipods/iphones/ipads won't backward sync anything unless it was purchased on that device.

For all the stuff you're referencing, you can either re-import into the library or as another suggested, download senuti and download to the desktop then import.  But if you have everything backed up on an external harddrive or similar, you're easiest option will just be to drag and drop into itunes on the new machine.

That's what I thought but wanted to verify. Thanks!

No problem.  I've gone through a few machines over the years and have to do the same with about 80gb worth of music.  In addition to the laptop and what's on the ipod, this is exactly why I keep another backup on an external harddrive and I update that anytime I purchase from itunes or rip a new CD into the library.

Apple hasn't sold DRM music for quite a while now.

Recover your password - even though you didn't purchase the music on your iPod, you can still access any items you may have purchased on the App Store.
