I thought of doing this last week and it worked out well. I bought a 1911 last week and received it in the mail today. Some of you might think it is an abomination.. a Chinese 1911. I have been reading a lot about them over the last few months. I decided I would take the risk and purchase one. It cost me just over $400 with shipping across the country.
It feels very nice in my hand and no rough edges like some people have said.It does have a small mark on the front but it does not bother me. The only thing I have noticed was the safety is very stiff I can not push it up with my thumb. It had about 2 pounds of grease all over it, I was thinking about boiling it all off.. When I was taking it apart the spring shot up and a part bounced of the roof.  Now I know for next time to keep my finger over it. The magazines look and feel very cheap. I have new ones in the mail and some ammo coming in also. The trigger feels decent but I have nothing to compare it to besides a GP100. Hopefully I can shoot it later this week. Here are some pictures.
I did have a picture of it in the case. I have re-sized it on photobucket but it is still extremely large when I preview it.

To prove you took all four of those, you need to take a picture of that foot with the gun, in front of your monitor showing ARF. Shoot your toes off first. |

Have heard good stuff about Norinco 1911s. Heard bad stuff about them before. Chinese industry is capable of excellent quality. They're just not particularly motivated to produce it. RE trigger: Take it to a smith or friendly dealer and have them 'weigh' the trigger. Without a trigger scale it's impossible to know the pull. When I took my 1911 in to be "tuned" down to four ish pounds, it was dropping at ten! I thought it was a pretty decent trigger til then. I dint own a trigger pull scale. |
