Good friend of mine committed suicide last night. We were just drinking and carrying on 2 weeks ago at another friend's wedding. 2 fucking weeks ago. He seemed normal, no history of suicidal anything. Last labor day the whole group of us was in TN partying. He brought us moonshine. Guy leaves behind 2 kids and a girlfriend, a son and a daughter, 5 and 7 IIRC. Prayers for the Morgan family, if you are a praying type, would be welcome. I don't know what to say or do. |

My brother did the same about a year ago. Its tough. Make sure to take care of yourself and find someone to talk to if you need to. Prayers for you and the family. ETA: Be there for the family if you can. You don't need to say or do anything, just be there. Thats what people want, someone there. If they want to talk, talk. You'll know what to do and when to do it. |

Thanks all.
Shawn was a good guy, and a gun guy too. Definitely no Obama fan either. I have fond memories of us doing things we shouldn't be doing, most involving fire or guns.
Shit happens, but I think everybody would accept an accident more than a suicide. I can't criticize anyone's actions, as I'm not in their shoes, but man, 30 is too young to just check out like this. Especially with young children. Another friend seems to think it was some anti depressants or other mood altering medications + alcohol most likely. |

Prayers sent. Some people hide it very well.
My best friend from my teenage years died after he decided not to kill himself and the shotgun went off into his shoulder. The only thing I'm glad of was the last time I saw him, I told him that he was the best friend I could ever have. |
