Peyton Manning is on his way to Denver, courtesy of a Broncos' private plane and in the company of John Elway, John Fox and Brian Xanders. This is getting serious, folks. Arguably the most decorated free agent in NFL history, Manning clearly has the Broncos on his short list of teams where he plans to finish his NFL career. The long-time Indianapolis Colts quarterback was released earlier this week amid concerns about four neck surgeries that forced him to miss the entire 2011 season, a $26 million bonus payment and the team's opportunity to select highly prized quarterback Read more: Peyton Manning to visit with John Elway, Broncos today - The Denver Post http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_20138824/peyton-manning-visit-john-elway-broncos-today#ixzz1oecVJrAV Read The Denver Post's Terms of Use of its content: http://www.denverpost.com/termsofuse |

Quoted: The real question is...do you don't the chance on Manning? One hit and possibly out forever? Not sure I'd risk it unless it was stated in contract that if he gets hurt he gets no money. Personally I think that the risk of re-injury is too great and that he should retire before he ends up crippled. |

Hell yeah, I would take the chance on manning. He probably has five good years left. Sad thing is they would have to trade tebow. Well, that's not sad, except they would only be able to trade him to a team that has bought in to running the option, or maybe the Jets. |

NFL contracts aren't guaranteed money like some other pro sports. Generally, an NFL team can cut a player in the middle of their contract and owe them nothing. That's why you see ridiculous back-loaded contracts that have very small chances of actually paying out the full amount, like Michael Vick's 10 year contract for $100-some million. Tebow has a lot of potential. If they pick up Manning to help develop Tebow for a couple seasons, he could end up being a good QB. ETA: If the Broncos do pick up Manning, I doubt they'll trade off Tebow. His salary isn't big enough to make him worth trading/cutting, and if Manning does get hurt again, Tebow has already proven himself to be a great leader on the field, and has been able to produce wins. |

why would they do that? I've been told Tebow is a good NFL quarterback. His mechanics and everything are fucked up. But he "just wins" so therefore he must be a good QB. At least that's how people I've heard argue it.
I thought it's because he's not a thug like everyone else |

I'm certainly not his biggest fan, but he's got incredible potential. |

It's now down to three teams.Denver,Miami and Arizona.I'm guessing Miami. Makes the most sense. Manning and Moore The Texans would make the most sense to me,but they have no interest.Second would be the Cardinals, but we have no O-line. that can be remedied rather quickly and Im sure with a guy like manning calling the signals the o-line would rise to the occassion |

With tebow's natural ability combined with the more refined, and collected head of manning as a mentor, tebow can be a beast! That being said, I hate tebow, and if manning goes to Denver I hope tebow gets benched, and everyone forgets all about him. (RAIDERS fan... if you were wondering.) |

No way they'll replace Tebow with Manning. The die hard Tebow fans would burn Denver to the ground. vmax84 Actually, if you want to replace Tebow as starter without causing fans to rise up in protest, Manning is a damn good choice. Best case scenario; Manning plays for two or three more years, while providing Tebow with the mentoring at quarterback that he should have gotten at Florida. |

Sorry but that is one hell of a risk. Maybe have Manning as a backup, but as a starter? A few months ago, Tony Dungy, who is all too familiar with Peyton's injury, said the injury was so severe, one good hit would paralize him.
Manning should be looking for a Quarterback or Offensive Coach position, not as a player. |

Manning should be looking for a Quarterback or Offensive Coach position, not as a player. his surgeon released him to play. a fusion is stronger than before if it fused properly. its the nerve damage he has to deal with and arm strength. |

The problem is not he fusion, it is the severe nerve damage due to all of the surgeries. Dungy was saying his arms and go numb at times. Not good for a quarterback. |

I honestly think the way, or the best way for it to work is have Manning back Tebow up, and work with him a lot on his reads and such and being a smarter quarterback. I really enjoy watching Tebow run the ball and being a bulldozer, but this is the NFL and I doubt he would last very long relying on it too much. Tebow "can" throw the ball effectively at times and everybody agrees he needs to improve passing; this is where someone like Manning, who has nothing left to prove, could really help Tebow, who has a lot of potential on being great in the NFL. Tebow is a winner. Somebody like Manning could really polish him up and make him great in the NFL. An interesting set of videos to watch on youtube are "The Chosen One"........shows Tebow back in high school. Very interesting, well put together by ESPN. You guys that are Tebow fans like myself would probably enjoy it as well. vmax84 |
