Just wondering if all the true Russian surplus ammo is actually "gone". In other words, is everybody selling new manufactured ammo these days?

Not even close to gone on 5.45.

From what I understand, there is plenty more, but it has to "sit" outside of Russia for 5 years before we are allowed to import it due to our import laws.

5.45 comes in waves, hear the same about tok....but that seems to not be coming in.

wasn't there some sort of ruling or law that 7.62x39 surplus imports were banned because it is "armor piercing handgun ammo".  but 5.45 is availalble for import because it is not?

There is lots of 5.45 and 7.62x54R. There is quite a bit of 303 Brit in Yemen, but it will probably sit there for awhile.

Yes Olympic arms made a 7.62x39mm AR pistol that led to all the awesome cheap 7.62x39 steel core being banned. I hope no one makes a 5.45 pistol or we are doomed.

Here comes the next attention whore/troll thread about "My summer vacation to Yemen (Dearborn for you and me) to get 55 million rounds of 303 ammo".

And remember, you gave them the idea.

Yep. Oly fucked us with the OA63 pistol. ATF ruled all steel core 7.62x39 as hundgun ammo after that and banned its importation.
I was buying it for $64 per k, delivered from J&G at the time.

I've come very very close to buying an upper and mag block...if the ammo hadn't dried up as much as it had...now i'm just sitting on my ammo for the handguns.

Surplus .308 dried up five years ago.  Hell, I was getting Aussie for $0.12/rnd.  Those were the days!

That is so sad, now $200.00 for a 1000 rounds. Ugh, I want the old prices back.
